People to People

Short films of human stories, minus the politics. Across varying cultures, eras, and scales—from displaced refugees in Asia to teenagers and children in the American suburbs—these four films collectively explore the universal friction of marginalization, moral agency, and forced maturity.

  • We and The Moon – Iran – 7 minutes
Majan, a young Afghan janitor and war fugitive, finds something odd in a garbage bin one night. She struggles to do the right thing.
  • Children of Rohingya – Malaysia -14 minutes
Kiran, a documentary photographer specializing in marginalized communities, encounters the Rohingya community in Langkawi, Malaysia. Moved by their needs, he launches an educational project aimed at empowering the children through language learning and essential skills, helping them integrate, thrive, and build a dignified future on the island.
  • Shallow – U.S. – 12 Minutes
A coming-of-age short film that follows two teenage boys grappling with masculinity and platonic intimacy.
  • Somewhere to Be – U.S. – 9 minutes
An eight-year-old girl must grow up quickly during a tense car ride. Set in 1985. Inspired by a true story.
